The Solution

Hampton Roads Old School is not just an organization, it is a movement.  A movement back to Old School values and traditions that made black people unique.  We use to speak to one another with the classic head nod, make eye contact and a simple, "what's up brother".  That phrase was changed to "whats up dog"; why you looking at me like that; and a possible confrontation. "Excuse me" use to suffice for stepping on ones foot.  Now this infraction can lead to gunfire.  And last but not least, the two words used to casually discuss our mothers and sisters are deplorable.

This is a movement we hope will spread across the nation awaking all races of people to the simple fact, that whatever your denomination of religion, there is a God and to hip you to the fact that murder, stealing and mistreatment of children are all violations of the written word in both the Bible and Qur'an (Koran).

Action

Formally stated, the third law is, "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction” (Newton).  A variety of action-reaction force pairs are evident in nature. Consider the propulsion of a fish through the water.  A fish uses its fins to push water backwards.  But a push on the water will only serve to accelerate the water.  In turn, the water reacts by pushing the fish forwards, propelling the fish through the water.  The size of the force on the water equals the size of the force on the fish; the direction of the force on the water {backwards} is opposite to the direction of the force on the fish {forwards}.  For every action, there is an equal {in size} and opposite {in direction} reaction force. Action-reaction force pairs make it possible for fishes to swim (Physics Classroom).  Hampton Roads Old School will pair with local schools and help teach these children how to swim in this complicated world.

We believe that grassroots intervention is required in our school system in support of our teachers.  A teacher's job is to teach in an environment where they feel safe and supported by the community.  Many do not feel this is the case.  We are actively recruiting successful men and women, nationwide to join with us in this cause.  We are not looking for just doctors and lawyers; we need help from hardworking factory workers, military active/retired, educators, church members and
business owners.  Our plan is to introduce role models into their lives by:

Telling our life stories and experiences to assembled students and present an option to crime and drugs.

Supporting and assisting teachers with after school programs by having strong role models present.

Listening and mentoring always.

Tough love when required.
